Shadow Shapes
The children will learn about God’s shadow of protection.

PREPARATION:
Print the handout on card stock paper and cut out each card. Then cut out the shapes in the middle of the cards.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Tell the children they will guess what shape you are holding by viewing each shape’s shadow. Then turn off the lights, shine the flashlight through the first card, and aim the shadow on a nearby wall. Continue the activity with the remaining cards, and consider allowing the children to take turns using the cards and flashlight.
Application: These objects had shadows because of the light shining through the cards. Psalm 91 teaches us that when we let the “light” of Jesus shine through us (through obedience, kindness, service, prayer, etc), then God’s shadow of protection will be on us!
