Turn to Refuge
The children will practice relying on God when they need refuge.
by Leah Pittsinger
TOPICS:God's Protection MATERIALS:Table DURATION:Approximately 10 minutes |
|
PREPARATION:
None needed.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Explain to the class that they will act out how to “take refuge” from the following scenarios:
1. An earthquake (Hide under a table and pray.)
2. A temptation to do something wrong (Read the Bible and pray.)
3. A loud noise (Cover your ears and pray.)
4. A thunderstorm or tornado (Seek shelter and pray.)
5. A burglar (Hide, call 9-1-1 and pray.)
Application: Do we actively turn to God when we need refuge? We are taught even as young children to seek safety during storms and other dangerous situations, but how often do we ask God for help? Let’s remember that God is always ready to be our refuge, and we should turn to Him when we need help.
