Finding Hope

In this Sunday school game, children will search for words to learn that perseverance comes with hope.
by Leah Pittsinger

TOPICS:

Hope, Perseverance, Salvation

MATERIALS:

10-20 Index cards
Marker
Tape

DURATION:

Approximately 10 minutes

PREPARATION:

Write the word “HOPE” on each index card. Then hide the cards throughout the room (taping them in place if necessary).

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Challenge the class to search for the words. If desired, when a child finds a card, ask him or her to tell you about something that gives them hope (such as God’s love, kindness, a good friend, etc.).

Application:
Sometimes hope can be hard to find! It takes perseverance to have hope when we face tough circumstances, but there is always hope because Jesus Christ died to save us from our sins. When we trust God’s promises and remember His great love for us in sending Jesus to die on the cross, we have the greatest hope the world has ever known.
