WHAT YOU WILL SAY:
Have you ever wondered about the meaning of life? (Show the seed to the class) Well, this tiny seed can teach us a lot about the true meaning of life.
Look at this seed. It seems small and insignificant, but it holds the potential for incredible growth. In Matthew 13:31-32, Jesus tells the parable of the mustard seed, illustrating how something small can grow into something great.
Just like this seed, our lives have potential. God has created each of us with unique gifts and purposes. We might start small, but with faith and nurturing, we can grow into who God intends us to be.
For a seed to grow, it needs to be planted in good soil. In Colossians 2:6-7, we are reminded to be rooted in Christ, so we can grow strong in our faith. Our meaning in life comes from being connected to God. Spending time in prayer, reading the Bible, and being part of a community helps us grow our spiritual roots, making us stronger and more resilient.
Once a seed grows into a plant, it produces fruit. In John 15:5, Jesus says, ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.’ Our purpose in life is to bear godly fruit—this means sharing love, kindness, and faith with others. When we live in alignment with God, we can positively impact those around us.
Conclusion: So, just like this seed, our lives have incredible potential. By being rooted in Christ and bearing fruit, we discover the true meaning of life: growing in love and purpose, and sharing that with others.
Closing Prayer: Let’s pray together. Dear God, thank You for the gift of life and the potential within each of us. Help us to grow deep roots in You and to bear good fruit for You in our lives. Amen.
