Children's Ministry Craft Ideas

Helpful ideas to keep craft making fun and hassle free.

Liquid Glue
Ask a friendly fast food restaurant if they can spare a few condiment cups. These work great for distributing small amounts of liquid glue around the tables and for controlling unnecessary waste. The kids can spread the glue on their craft project using small paintbrushes or Q-tips. Simply toss the cups in the trash when done.

Safety Scissors
Are easy for the kids to use and gives teachers peace of mind.

Extra Pencils, Crayons and Markers
Pencils break, markers dry out and sometimes there just aren't enough crayons to go around. Having surplus of these items on hand is good planning. They won't go to waste.

Difficult Craft? Recruit More Volunteers
If you find yourself making a difficult craft don't be afraid to ask a few other adult volunteers to help for the day. It will be a blessing to the children, as well as the other volunteers.

Messy Crafts
Cover the work area with newspapers, this will include the tables and floor. Provide old button up shirts that children can use as paint smocks. Use washable art supplies. Depending on the climate, you can even do the craft outdoors.
