What We Learned:
Today, your child learned about the time when Jesus rode into town on a donkey. People took off their cloaks and put them down upon the road. They waved palm branches and shouted praises to Jesus as He rode by. Your child discovered that we can also worship Jesus today in a very special way. Like the people in Jesus' time who were full of joy, we can offer our praise and worship to Him every time we pray. (Scripture used: Mark 11:1-10) |

Practice this verse several times with your
child during the week. This will not only help your child to remember the verse, but also it will help to reinforce what he or she has learned during class. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Ask your child to share some ways that we can worship Jesus. There are many possibilities. Use this time to talk about what others do, and how your child can do these things. One simple way we can worship is by singing songs to Him. Singing songs about His love, His power, His forgiveness, are all good ways to start. It might seem silly at first, but another way to worship Jesus can be to simply raise your hands and thank Him for what He has done for you. Let your child come up with more ideas on his or her own, and practice doing them with your child throughout the week. |

Dear Lord, We are thankful for this opportunity to offer our praise. You came to this earth to save us from our sins. Help us never to forget the great love You have for us. Let us worship You like the people did when they threw down their cloaks and waved those palm branches around. You are worthy of our worship and praise. Amen. |
