What We Learned:
Today, your child learned about prayer. Prayer is the way we speak with God, our creator. God loves it when we speak with Him about everything. He wants us to communicate our hearts and minds with Him whenever we can. God wants to have a close relationship with us, so He is very happy when we make the time to pray to Him. (Scripture used: Jeremiah 29:11-13) |

Words to Remember:
(Bible versions used are selected to help young children learn and understand the meaning of scripture.)
"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:13
Practice this verse several times with your
child during the week. This will not only help your child to remember the verse, but also it will help to reinforce what he or she has learned during class. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Talk about how important it is for us to pray to God. Sit down with your child and quietly talk to God. The way we as parents can show our kids how to talk to God is by doing it ourselves. It is an easy way to set an example for them. Pray about whatever you feel like. Some examples could be to thank Him for the beautiful weather that allows us to play outside or maybe for the rain because the flowers and plants are no longer thirsty. Kids say some pretty amazing things during prayers. Allow your child to express himself or herself to God and provide some guidance if needed. This can be a great time for teaching and growing. |

Daily Prayer:
Dear Lord, Thank You for listening to me when I talk to You. I love how open and caring You are. You always listen to every prayer I say and think. Help me learn that talking with You is a very important thing to do so I can have a close relationship with You. Thank You, God, for Your love. I love You too. Amen. |
