What We Learned:
Today your child learned that God wants us to help and serve others in need and that we should do so without grumbling or complaining. The children also learned that God gives us the strength we need to do the jobs he wants us to do. He helps us in many ways, sometimes without even knowing it. We just need to be willing to use our talents to help and serve and God will provide a way. (Scripture used: 1 Peter 4:9-11) |

Practice this verse several times with your
child during the week. This will not only help your child to remember the verse, but also it will help to reinforce what he or she has learned during class. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
This is the best time to teach your child to help others. It is easy for children to learn new things at such a young age. Let your child help around the house with little chores or perhaps in the neighborhood with bigger jobs. Make a list of things you can do together. Then, select one item a week and work together. Encourage your child to do a good job, and remind him or her that God wants us to help people in need. Also, take some time to pray to God together for the strength to get the job done! Having children who are willing to serve and help is a true blessing! |

Dear Lord, thank You for Your promise to help me know what to do to help others in need. Thank You for loving me so much that You gave me special talents that I can use to help and serve others. Help me to remember that I can do everything through You, as You give me strength. Amen. |
