Preparation:
Before class, print out enough copies of the card sheet so each child
can have their own set of cards. Cut out each card before class, and place
into individual envelopes. If possible, use medium or heavy card stock.
What you will do:
Read the story of Zacchaeus (found in Luke 19:1-10) to the children. Explain
how Zaccheaus was a tax collector, and very wealthy. Most of his life
he was probably pretty stingy with his money. But after meeting Jesus,
he had a change of heart. He decided to follow Jesus and give half of
everything he had to the poor.
Read the story of Zacchaeus from Luke 19:1-10
Then give each child a set of cards. As you read the story again, have
them place the cards in the correct order, as they appear on the example
above. If time permits, allow the children to mix up the cards again,
and see if they can place them in the correct order from memory.
When finished, have the children place their cards back into the envelope
to take home.
