Jesus loves me this
I know.
He said His commandments were the way to go.
He wrote them down so we could live.
Thank you Lord for all you give!
First, God said I am He
The only one that will ever be.
All other gods will never do,
because they are false and very untrue.
Second, God said Idols can make me mad
so don't worship them and be bad.
Jealousy is what I foresee
when you do these things to me.
Third, God said, if at all you use my name
make sure it's proper and not in vain.
Adoration should be on your lips
for this is the Lord's very personal tips.
Fourth, God said, I have blessed the seventh day
to keep it Holy in every way.
Resting is what I command
Do not work for it's against my plan.
Fifth, God said, I promise you long life in the land
if you obey this very next command.
To honor your father and mother
This should be done also by your brother.

Sixth, God said,
do not murder with your hands
or in your heart or with your plans.
You should always replace hate with love
Then you shall please me, who is from above.
Seventh, God said, your body is Holy to me
never think about or commit adultery.
There should be a fear in this.
Don't think even about a little kiss.
Eighth, God said, it is wrong to steal.
Not even a toy, money or a meal.
God shall provide all your needs
for He shall take care of you, yes indeed!
Ninth, God said, nothing is hidden from my eyes
so never tell those little lies
about your neighbors, behind their backs
you can be sure God is keeping track.
Tenth, God said, do not want your neighbors' things
this includes any of their belongings.
Their homes and wives are theirs to keep
so be content with what you reap.
Ask for forgiveness when you sin
for God knows it's hard to do all this within.
The cross will atone for our mistakes
so thank the Lord for the grace He makes. |
