What we learned:
After completing today's lesson, the children
better understand the use of the word fear in the bible as it relates
to respecting and honoring God. God doesn't want us to be terrified
of Him, but we are to respect and honor Him..

Memory Work:
"For I am a great king,” says the LORD Almighty, and my
name is to be feared among the nations.” Malachi 1:14 NIV
Practice this verse several times with your
child during the week. This will not only help them remember the
verse, it will also help to reinforce what they learned during class.
Discuss how the nations of the world are to respect and honor God.

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Together with your child make a list of
people that that you respect; this list could include Policemen,
Firemen, Pastors, Mothers, Fathers, Teachers, Bosses, Government
Leaders. Next to the names you listed, write why you respect these
people.
Next, ask your child to help you create a list of reasons that we
are to respect and honor God, as God is by far more deserving of
our respect and honor than any of the people contained on the first
list.

Daily Prayer:
Father God, we put our hope in you, for
you are a good and loving God. Righteous and trustworthy are all your
ways; may we honor and respect you all the days of our lives. Teach
us to live according to your commandments and listen always to your
words. Amen. |
