What we learned:
Today, in our third lesson on the parable
of the sower, we learned that many people hear the Good News, which
is the gift of salvation, but they are more worried about their day
to day activities. They spent most of their time trying to get more
money; they think that the more money they have the happier they'll
be. Sadly this just isn't true. People can only be truly happy when
they have a genuine relationship with God, through His one and only
Son, Jesus Christ.

Memory Verse:
"Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation"
Mark 16:15
Practice this verse several times with your
child during the week. Write the verse out on a sheet of paper, leaving
several key words out. Ask your child to fill in the missing words.
Show your child how to look the passage up in the bible, using the
name of the book, the chapter and the verse. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
After dinner, each night this week, discuss
on how each member of the family spent time with God during the day.
It's easy to let other unimportant things come between us and our
time with God, discuss ways in which each family member can keep this
from happening. Spend time as a family interacting with God. A great
resource to accomplish this is Family Night Tool Chest Series by Widermann
& Bruner which is published by Heritage Builders. |

Daily Prayer:
Dear Lord, please help us keep our life
priorities in the proper perspective. Let us keep our focus on you
and the words of life you have given us, which are contained in the
bible. May our hearts long to become closer to you. Keep us from letting
earthly pursuits come between us and our relationship with you. Help
us use the gifts you have given us to honor you. |
