What we learned:
The past five lessons covered several aspects of salvation. We began by learning that Heaven is a free gift, and we cannot get there on our own. We learned that everyone is a sinner, and that this sin must be punished, which is eternal separation from God. We also learned that God is just and merciful. Because He loves us so much, He sent His Son, Jesus to die on the cross to pay the price for our sin in full. Finally, we learned that this gift of salvation must be received. By putting our faith and trust in Jesus, we can take hold of the Grace of God, and receive eternal life.
Your child discovered four steps in putting his or her faith and trust in Jesus.
1. Acknowledging that he or she is a sinner and repenting of that sin
2. Asking Jesus into his or her heart as Lord and Savior and for the forgiveness of sins
3. Confessing Jesus before others
4.
Being baptized in obedience to Jesus

Memory Verse:
"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 10:32 KJV
Have your child look up this verse in his or her Bible and practice it several times during the week. This will not only help your child remember the verse but it will also help to reinforce what he or she learned during class. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Ask your child if he or she is ready to receive Jesus. Have your child share with you some of the things learned during the past five lessons. This should give you an idea of your child's level of understanding. If he or she is ready, talk with your pastor or your child's Sunday school teacher about baptism. Let them know your child is ready to receive Jesus and become part of the Kingdom of God. |

Daily Prayer:
Almighty God, thank You for everything You do, and for Your Son, Jesus. Thank You for wanting me to be part of Your Kingdom. Help me turn to You, and not the desires of this world. Help me seek You with all my heart, and follow You in all my ways. Amen. |
