What we learned:
Today, in the life of Moses, we discovered
how the Israelites grumbled and complained and ended up wandering
in the desert for a very long time. We also learned that God wants
us to be happy and content, but the only way we can be truly happy
and content is to put Him first. We should not put our selfish desires
or material treasures first, because these can not bring true happiness. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Get two Bibles, and turn to Exodus 20: 1
- 17. Call out a number between one and ten, and have a race with
your child to read the scriptures to find what commandment corresponds
to that number. For example; you call out the number 4, and find the
4th commandment in sequence is: Remember the Sabbath day by
keeping it holy. After a while, both of you should be able to do this
without the aid of the Bible. Be sure to let your child win a few
times. |

Daily Prayer:
Dear Father, everything is under your
control and you are so wonderful. You only want what is best for
me. Lord, help me to not be jealous of others, and not grumble or
be unhappy about what I don't have. Instead, let me be content and
satisfied with what I do have. Amen
