What we learned:
During the past few weeks we learned
many new things from the birth of Jesus story. From the Virgin Mary,
we learned how to live a life that is pleasing to God and others.
From Joseph, we saw that by living a righteous life God will help
us in times of difficulty and show us the way. The tiring journey
to Bethlehem and the manger taught us how God will always keep his
promises, and that we have hope and assurance in Jesus. As the angel
told the shepherds, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news
of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town
of David, a Savior has been born."
Today, we learned about the Magi
who came to visit Jesus, and discovered how it is natural and expected
to worship Jesus. Wise men and women through out the ages have made
Jesus their Lord and Savior. Let's remember to put Jesus first,
and worship Him during this time of the year.

Memory Verse:
"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men."
Luke 2:14 KJV
Continue to practice this verse several
times with your child during the week. Make it a special point, even
a tradition, to recite this verse from memory on Christmas morning. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Help your child make and send "Thank
You" cards to the special people in your child's life, for
giving gifts or simply for being with the family during christmas
time. Inside the cards, include something like, "I thank Jesus
because you are my ________ (friend, uncle, sister, neighbor, etc.)
You are a special gift to me."

Daily Prayer:
Dear God, I am so thankful for this time
of the year, and for all the blessings you give. Let my gift to you
be my whole self. I want to serve you and make you proud of me. I
know I can do this, because of Jesus in my life who gives me hope
and assurance. Thank you ever so much for Jesus, my Lord and Savior.
Amen. |
