What we learned:
Today, we learned that although many things
have changed throughout the ages, one thing has not changed during
all of this time: the Good News that Jesus our Lord and Savior came
into this world because God loves us. Through Him we have hope and
assurance. (Scripture used: Luke 2:1-20)

Memory Verse:
"Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men." Luke 2:14 KJV
Practice this verse several times with your child during the week. This will not only help him or her remember the verse, it will also help to reinforce what he or she learned during class. |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Put together a nativity scene with your
child. As you put each figure into position, discuss why that person
is there, and what it may have been like for them to witness the
birth of Jesus. Discuss how their lives were different from ours.
How was it the same? If Jesus was born in our own backyard, who
would be there? What kind of animals would be there?
Note: If your child's Sunday school class is going to perform
the play "The Birth of Jesus," your child was also given
a copy of the skit for review. If possible, spend some time this
week reading over the skit with your child. A copy can
be obtained from the following URL: www.kidssundayschool.com/Gradeschool/Skits/1skit07a.php |

Daily Prayer:
Dear Lord, You are an awesome God. Thank
You for sending Your Son to earth, so I can have hope and assurance,
and see Your love. Help me remember this time for what it really is,
an expression of Your love and the birth of my Lord and Savior. Amen. |
