What we learned:
Today, your child learned that the Word
of God contains the truth, and the truth can be sharper than any
two edged sword. When people hear the truth, they must make a decision,
follow the truth, or fight against it. And fighting against the
truth can be quite difficult. In the end, it is a losing battle.
(Scripture used: John 20:31, Ephesians 6:17, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Timothy 4:1-5) |

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:
Help your child learn how to use a Bible
concordence this week. Have your child look up the word "sword,"
and then find and read a few references containing that word. Then,
find the reference to Luke 2:35, and read Luke 2:34-35. Discuss
why Simeon also used the word "sword" when describing
how Mary's soul would be affected by Jesus. |

Daily Prayer:
Father God, You are the God of truth. Thank
You for giving us Your Word, so we can also know the truth. Help us
to share with those who do not know You, so they too can live in the
truth of Your love and grace. Amen. |
