Verses to Live By

God's Word empowers us to live for Jesus each and every day.

Materials: Blank business cards or an index card for each verse Duration: Approximately 10 minutes			Topics: Armor of God, Protection Target Audience: Grades 1-5 (Ages 6-11)

Preparation: Place each verse from Ephesians 6:13-18 on a separate business card or index card for each child in the class. You can use a simple graphics program to decorate each card with brightly colored designs. Click here for examples What you will do: Distribute a complete set of verse cards to each child in class. Recite the verses together as a class. Allow the children to take the verse cards home so that they can memorize the verse. (Reward each child who can successfully recite the verse the following week.) Tell the children that God loves us very much. He also protects us in many ways. Did you know He even gave us armor! That's right. God gave us spiritual armor to protect us from evil. We should put on our armor every day. Over the next few weeks we're going to be learning more about the spiritual armor God gave us. We'll start by putting God's Word into our hearts.
