| by Kathy Harrington, Harvest Church Children's Church, Kingwood, Texas |
|||
| Children put on real play armor as they learn about the protection of God. | |||
| Materials: Play Armor - either purchased or made from poster board or foam board Duration: Approximately 10 minutes |
![]() |
Topics: Armor of God, Protection Target Audience: Grades 1-5 (Ages 6-11) |
|
| Preparation: If play armor isn't going to be purchased, cut out and construct the various armor pieces using poster board or foam board before class. What you do: Read Ephesians 6:13-18, explain each verse as it is presented and show the armor that is associated with each passage. Explain that Rome occupied Israel at the time of Jesus and that Roman soldiers were a common site. Explain that Jesus and the disciples used everyday things to illustrate the truth. Choose one child (a boy if the class is mixed) and dress him in the armor costume as the children recite the verse. If time permits several children can take turns being dressed in the armor as the other kids say the verse. |
