My Prayer of Faith

Children learn about the "Prayer of Faith," and then develop their own prayer for the appropriate time.

Materials:
Activity Page for each child
Pencils

Duration:
Approximately 15 minutes

Topics:
Forgiveness, Grace, Heaven, Mercy, Prayer, Salvation

Target Audience:
Grades 4-6 (Ages 9-12)

Preparation:
Before class, print or make copies of one activity page for each child.

What you will do:
Give each child a copy of the activity page and read the instructions at the top. Give the children enough time to complete filling in the blank spaces and come up with their own prayer of faith. If your church has a specific Prayer of Faith, or Prayer of Salvation, you may want to have the children write that down in the spaces provided.

What you will say:
Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14: 6. The Apostle Paul says, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13.

The prayer of faith is one of the first steps to letting Jesus take control of your life. If you believe what the Bible says about Jesus, that you have sinned against God, and that Jesus died on the cross in order to forgive our sins, then you are ready to pray this simple prayer.
